Message From the New President
The office of president of NALSA has been passed on from Kent Hatch to myself. Kent and Pat have done great things for our organization over the past eight years. These are going to be big shoes to fill. I look forword to working with the board of directors (who represent your clubs) to help North American landsailing continue to evolve in the free and innovative way it has in the past.
At Thanksgiving, we will be having our first board of directors meeting with the new officers and board. If there are things that you would like to have discussed, talk to your club representative. Among other things, we will be discussing the Americas Cup this spring and the FISLY World Championship for 2002.
The NALSA web site is in the process of being updated. Jim Hart, our webmaster has just added a Forum section that will be a great way to share information and ideas among us.
A significant change I plan to implement with the next newsletter is to move it to the web page. It offers a timely, colorful and expedient way to get news out. ( If you do not have access to the internet we will still mail you a copy.) Publishing and mailing a printed version of this newsletter requires a lot of very limited volunteer time and energy. We will use an email notification system to let you know when there is significant new news on the site. You can easily make hard copies with your computer printer for a friend or the coffee table. Details are being worked out.
This is newsletter is our first attempt. We are trying to keep it simple and
easy. I am sure we have a lot to learn. Please send post your comments on the
forum or email me directly (bobdill@hotmail.com).
